6 Keys to RV Trailer Shopping

Lakeshore RV CenterSo far we have highlighted some terrific models that are sure to deliver a better camping experience for you and your family. We’ve also offered a basic primer on how to choose the right model for you. But what are some of the keys to RV trailer shopping you should keep in mind or ask your Lakeshore RV sales rep?

Here’s a few things to keep in mind:

1. No matter where in the world you need your new RV to be, Lakeshore RV can deliver it to you.  Well, almost anywhere – I can’t imagine RVing in some of the more remote and inhospitable regions of our fine planet would be possible, so chances are, we probably couldn’t ship there. Just last week I overheard a salesman talking to a customer who wanted to know if Lakeshore RV could ship a new RV to Australia – most certainly. So whether you are in the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia, etc. we can deliver a new RV to you and it’s more affordable than you would think. Often, Lakeshore RV’s wholesale discounts are so good that even after delivery charges, you can still save over competing dealerships.

2. We also finance to the United States and Canada. Lakeshore RV is a high volume dealership and we take care of financing for our customers in the US and Canada on a daily basis. You don’t even have to be at the dealership to fill out a credit application. All it takes is a visit to the Lakeshore RV Finance Page and you are on your way.

3. Do you want to upgrade your current RV to a newer model? At Lakeshore RV, we also accept trades and you don’t have to be here to go through the trade-in process. We have numerous customers who have bought new RVs online or over the phone and have traded their old RV without ever having stepped into Lakeshore RV. It’s as easy as asking your sales rep for the trade-in form, submitting photos of your RV and you are set – the sales rep will take it from there. If your new RV is being delivered, we’ll pick up your trade-in at the time of delivery.

What are some important things to ask your Lakeshore RV Sales Rep?

Fifth Wheel Hitches1. Ask your sales rep what type of hitch equipment you need for the RV you are purchasing and what type of equipment will work best for your vehicle. We stock many different types of hitches for travel trailer and 5th wheel RVs – equipment required for the type of RV you are buying and equipment that will improve towing performance. We sell the hitch equipment in-house and our Service Technicians are hitch installation experts. So whether you need required equipment or equipment that makes towing easier, Lakeshore RV has you covered.

Brake Controller2. Ask about brake controllers, more specifically, what you may want or need for your vehicle and what particular type of brake controller your new RV may require. There are many different brake controllers on the market and our Service Department can recommend and install a product that works best for your RV and towing vehicle.

3. Last but not least, talk to your Lakeshore sales rep about upgrade options. Most RVs we carry offer an extensive list of available options – what you see in our inventory is not all you get as we are able to order what you want from the manufacturers we carry. Talk to your sales rep about features you are looking for, the necessities you need and he or she will walk you through the available options specific to your model.

So, if you are shopping for a new RV and you have any questions about today’s topic, visit Lakeshore RV or call us at 888.743.8278 to speak with a sales rep. Better yet, if you are shopping for a new Cherokee, Wolf Pack, or Grey Wolf RV, talk to Jim Logan at 616-890-3967 and he’ll answer any questions you may have.
